Arrival: highway Bologna-Firenze, exit at Certosa/Siena-superstrada
direction Siena, exit at S. Donato - cross the bridge to the left and follow the road
to S.Donato in direction of Castellina in Chianti. After approx. 10 km you'll see the
indication signs for "Poderi Val Verde" and "Casanova di Ricavo"-
about 300 m further on to your left some cypresses guard the estate
entrance - follow the rough road for another 300 m then park on the indicated guest parkings.

| Climate: From end
of March until the beginning of November the weather in Tuscany
is pleasantly warm. Generally we are ahead
of the north European weather by about a month. April, May and
June offer a breathtaking flora (to start with
iris, followed by poppies, broom and roses), summer is not too
hot thanks to occasional rain showers. September brings back
warm days and cool evenings whereas Oct. and Nov. surprise with
beautiful Indian summer colours. |

| In autumn the weather stays
stable for a long time and offers at the time of the wine harvest (end of Sept.) and olive picking
(mid Nov.) many sunny days. Based on personal experience it can be said that from mid. Dec. until
mid. Jan. sunny days with blue skies may be expected. This may be a tip for the silence and cultural
seaking guest! |
