The area around Poderi Val Verde
is perfect for short or more extended walks as well as long
hiking and trekking tours - during the cooler months we may
also guide you and finish the day off with a typical lunch
in a romantic trattoria or a picnic prepared by us served under
olive trees overlooking the famous vineyards of the Chianti. |

You want to learn some spoken Italian? You may book private
Italian language lessons, held by a sympatic local young lady
in your own apartment.
And then our speciality - cooking lessons
- we shall be glad to teach you various local farmer meals,
meals you may also prepare at home and surprise your friends
with - among others dishes that already hundreds of years
ago the famous Katharina di Medici brought to France, when
she married king Francois. |

| The surrounding hills and white roads offer optimal conditions
for mountain biking (standard bikes may be rented through
us, or professional bikes in the next town). There are various
tennis courts in the next towns; you may also go fishing trouts
or carps in some of the small artifical lakes around. Perfect
golf courses are closed to Florence, Siena and Montecatini
Terme. |

Are you interested in mushroom "hunting"? As of
September you may accompany me in may daily excursions into
the woods. The same applies when there are delicious wild
asparagus in April and May.
All that you do and taste also with other guest during our
Italian family style welcome dinners on Saturday evening. |

And last not least our "cowboy" barbeques - out
in the open, on a fireplace made out of local stones, with
firewood picked by you in the woods around - we shall pass
a lovely evening under the stars barbequeing, drinking and
talking. Naturally the young ones have their own fireplace!
Naturally we shall not forget the most famous product of
the Chianti Classico - the rubyred wine - we shall be glad
to arrange wine tastings or wine seminars for you.
And if you want to help us picking grapes (mid Sept-
to mid Oct.) or olives (mid Nov. to end of Dec.) you
are always welcome!!! |
